Probably, yes. I just received my San Francisco Voter Information Pamphlet--all 272 pages of it! I remember one year where the "pamphlet" (why not just call it a book?) was heavy enough that it nearly had to be sent Priority Mail, but this is close enough. When I lived in Salt Lake City, the county's election officer didn't send out a ballot but placed an ad in the Sunday paper before the election telling people where to go. That's far too minimal for my taste, but this is really too much.
For those who don't have the privilege of voting in the City and County of San Francisco, here's what I'll be voting on:
- President & Vice-President (6 parties listed: Democratic, Republican, Libertarian, Green, American Independent, and Peace & Freedom)
- U.S. Representative
- Member, State Assembly
- Judge, Superior Court
- Member, Board of Education (vote for 4)
- Member, Community College Board (vote for 4)
- Member, Board of Supervisors (District 4) (rank your top three choices)
- State Propositions (12 (!) of them this election)
- City and County Propositions (22 (!!! of them this election)
